Page deleted[edit]

This is a pretty popular game on steam, not sure why this page got deleted? And then the talk page for the page got deleted? has 80,000 concurrent users

AI-generated articles published by non-existent persons OK as references?[edit]

Not sure what the protocol is, here, but I noticed that a zleague.gg article is used as a reference. Zleague.gg publishes AI-generated articles by scraping web content. The articles are attributed to (presumably) non-existent persons, and sometimes contain catastrophically false information that even a cursory bit of research would have revealed was wrong (except, I suppose, if that research pointed you to a Wiki article that used a Zleague article as a reference...). I'm not sure whether to remove the reference or what. MechanoidWarhead (talk) 21:19, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

** ALT2: ... that within two weeks of release, BattleBit Remastered was the #1 top seller on Steam and sold over 1.8 million copies? Source: This PC Gamer article

Created by GeneralHamster (talk). Nominated by AdoTang (talk) at 22:05, 22 July 2023 (UTC). Post-promotion hook changes for this nom will be logged at Template talk:Did you know nominations/BattleBit Remastered; consider watching this nomination, if it is successful, until the hook appears on the Main Page.[reply]

  • @Vaticidalprophet: Sorry for the late reply. I think ALT0a works better. A cross between ALT0a and ALT2 to me would just be something like "BattleBit Remastered, an MMO created by three indie developers, sold over 1.8 million copies within the first two weeks of release"; I don't really feel that one, but if you think it works, sure. • @Vaticidalprophet: I just want to inform you that it's been a month and this user has since banned for being a sockpuppet. If closing DYK nominations is a thing, then that should probably be done here. NegativeMP1 21:14, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    • The creator was blocked, and was blocked before I even started the review, but the nominator isn't, which is the important part. Having said that, ALT0a does need approval by an independent reviewer. Vaticidalprophet 21:16, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
      • Ok, I got the two confused, my bad. Though while I'm here I can probably review the hook in a second. NegativeMP1 21:20, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Approved by two people already, and ALT0a is infact accurate. I do think that "BattleBit Remastered, an MMO created by three indie developers, sold over 1.8 million copies within the first two weeks of release" would give more context and would arguably be better, but ALT0a works. Giving this a third approval. NegativeMP1 21:33, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

ALT2 or any version of it is way too promotional. Striking. Valereee (talk) 20:26, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Vaticidalprophet: AdoTang Shouldn't this be added to the list? List of massively multiplayer online first-person shooter games. We also have a WP:SEAOFBLUE in our hook but their may be no way around it. I have also rewrote one sentence in the article and moved one citation to make the hook and cited fact clearer.
