Naming convention[edit]

Basketball (ball) and Football (ball) use (ball) as their identifier. Should this not be in the same boat? JoshieTV 17:34, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Different standards in American and Japanese baseball[edit]

The Daisuke Matsuzaka article makes reference to some differences between the standard baseballs used in the American and Japanese leagues. Some detail on this would be interesting. Pimlottc 03:47, 31 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Baseball Diameter[edit]

I was surprised to see the diameter of a baseball listed as "has a diameter of 2 3/8" to 3" ". The major league rules, as referenced, do not mention the diameter. They mention a minimum and maximum circumference or 9 to 9.25 inches. There is no way that a ball with a diameter of 2 3/8 inches would be legal. Such a ball would have a circumference of under 7.5 inches.

If you I edited the lead to include the range of the circumference to match the rules. I included the corrected approximate range in parentheses.

In the main text, I rewrite slightly. The original text implied that the diameter is specified in the rules. It is not, and the values were wrong, so I've rewritten to use the correct rules, and added the implied diameter.--SPhilbrickT 19:55, 13 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This article is in serious need of rehabilitation[edit]

{{multiple issues}}

OK, we have serious problems with this article. Virtually nothing is cited, and a lot of the sentences just flat out don't agree with one another. Many of them don't make sense.

Help!!

The cut away picture[edit]

Surely there's a more recent, in color picture of the inside of a baseball that's free use, right? CRRaysHead90 | We Believe! 06:35, 21 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
