I haven't played this one either. Is it really similar enough to this version to be considered a port and not a new game? That's kind of shameful if they released a 6-year old game on the GB instead of incorporating advancements that other companies had made. --Brideck 21:36, 7 December 2005 (UTC)

It's pretty different, definitely more advanced than the NES version in some ways. The Game Boy version always seemed to me to be more of a self-styled clone of the Famista/RBI Baseball series, except with only an American and a Japanese team (with no real players that I recall, but I remember Mario and Luigi turning up among the players). Is part of this entry confused with RBI Baseball?

The games have a similar appearance so it's very possible. Specifically, I mean the reference to the NES USA release having 6 1980s pennant winners. If I recall correctly, the USA release had teams designated as "A" "B" "C", etc. RBI Baseball had the 80s pennant winners. Naytchrboy 15:57, 30 September 2006 (UTC)

That's correct, this game does feature teams designated as single letters. However, it's clear from the letters and uniforms that they're meant to represent specific MLB teams. RBI Baseball has 8 MLB teams plus 2 All-Star teams with real player names and stats. Brideck 20:26, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

Glitch removed from article

An interesting glitch was the "super slow pitch" that could be produced when A and START were activated at virtually the same time on the pitcher's controller. The only way to reliable reproduce this was to unplug and reconnect the controller to the NES console at a bit of an angle. The pitcher began his wind up and the game would immediately pause. Upon unpausing the game, the pitcher would finish his delivery, releasing a pitch between 0 and 15 mph.

I'm not sure this is unencyclopedic information... and come on! Unplugging the controller and reinserting it at an angle? Sounds like you have to go way out of your way to reproduce it. (I kinda doubt inserting it at an angle would really change anything, though...) Plenty of games have really obscure bugs, and this sounds really obscure to me. - furrykef (Talk at me) 10:46, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

MLB Teams

I have no intention of starting a revision war here, but if the A team shows up as green on your screen then you need to adjust your settings. On an emulator, their color comes out as R24-G60-B92 (kind of a lighter navy blue). When I originally labeled them the Astros, it was a best guess as that color seems to match the navy from their famed "rainbow" uniforms of the early 80s.[1] Regardless, it's definitely not green and therefore not the Athletics.
