Notability[edit]

Per WP:NOTINHERITED, I don't think he is notable. His much older half-siblings are independently notable for their various public roles and activities, unlike him, not just for being the children of their father. --Tataral (talk) 00:17, 12 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Nonsense. The old deletion was when his father hadn't even got the nomination. It noted that an infant British prince would be an exception to the usual rule for notability He's the President-elect's son who is going to be living in the White House less than 70 days from now. He's going to be in the news a great deal. People are going to search for this article literally millions of times. The deletion proposal is totally frivolous, an obvious troll. Enon (talk) 08:57, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

He will be in the first family. Important he has a page. He will be in the news. Should not be deleted. Hosgeorges! 14:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)

  • Malia and Sasha Obama do not have articles, to protect them, among many other reasons. There's no reason this child should have an article.--Milowenthasspoken 16:28, 15 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

"Politely staying awake"[edit]

What does this phrase mean? It doesn't appear in the article nor do I understand what the sentence is attempting to say. Could he have been "rudely staying awake"? Neither makes any sense. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:300:4201:A21F:C5D7:FC3A:2351:2D3A (talk) 00:47, 14 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I am the reader[edit]

I came to this page from the Trump's page and was very interested in this lad. The page should stay and be added on. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:806F:1F90:8047:6EC8:5489:9B98 (talk) 01:53, 14 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

"Politely staying awake" or "visible on camera" or "very sleepy"[edit]

I'd like to point out the title of The Daily Telegraph's article is Barron Trump, 10, looked extremely sleepy during his father’s victory speech. When looking at the Barron Trump article's editing history, the text was changed from "he was visible on camera politely staying awake" to "he was visible on camera" which is not what the blurb/article says at all. The entire Daily Telegraph article is about nothing but how sleepy Barron Trump was during his father's victory speech. If the article's entire raison d'être is denied (by the change back from "very sleepy" to "visible on camera") then why is the reference even being used at all? Shearonink (talk) 02:22, 14 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed the entire paragraph except the "his father is to take office on January 20, 2017" statement, as it is complete trivia and isn't of any encyclopedic value. Linguist Moi? Moi. 02:36, 14 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that this is mere trivia - a 10-yr-old kept up after bedtime having hard time staying awake - inappropriate for an encyclopedia.E.M.Gregory (talk) 12:08, 14 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

How tall is Barron Trump?[edit]

Barron Trump is exceptionally tall for a ten-year-old. Looking at him in photos taken with his parents, I would estimate his height to be at least 5 foot 9. That's way above the 95th percentile on the childrens' growth chart, and about two feet taller than I was at his age. Does anyone have a citable source which verifies his height? Lyttle-Wight (talk) 14:57, 15 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

In general, we don't include a person's height in their article unless their height is particularly relevant, e.g. if they are particularly known for their height (Robert Wadlow, Jyoti Amge). Linguist Moi? Moi. 15:23, 15 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that his height is not notable. The only exception I know of to identifying someone's height or other physical features is for models. We need to avoid turning articles of people with limited notability into fansites. Sundayclose (talk) 15:43, 15 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • He gets a little taller every day, just a very small amount. BECAUSE HE'S 10 YEARS OLD AND DOESN'T GET PRESS COVERAGE ABOUT HIS HEIGHT OR ANYTHING REALLY.--Milowenthasspoken 16:27, 15 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Barron Trump has been deleted[edit]

Draft:Barron Trump, which is linked to in this redirect via hidden text, has now been deleted, but the link remains. I figure that the mention of the draft should be removed somehow, but am unsure how to do it without impacting the hidden text's message. Perhaps the text should be removed entirely, as it now doesn't add anything to the green text in the redirect category shell. Geolodus (talk) 12:14, 31 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed the mention of the now-deleted draft article, while leaving the rest of the comment. I understand it is (also) referring to a former fuller version of this article. —ADavidB 12:47, 31 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

anime[edit]

If this is ever expanded into an article, I'm wondering if any reliable sources confirmed that the May 2017 @STBPOTUS tweets were by him? One referenced:

I am not quite sure why you feel those references demonstrate notability.
  1. Generic "facts" about the kid, published 2022
  2. Article is about Melania, only incidentally mentions Barron
  3. Fairly routine article, probably written only because he wasn't there when Trump left the White House
  4. Again, this is about Melania
  5. Seriously? It's a three-sentence piece about how tall he is.
  6. This one isn't terrible, but it's definitely not enough and I would argue not really significant coverage about him (just his attendance at an event)
Primefac (talk) 13:51, 18 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
no, notability is not inherited. ValarianB (talk) 14:39, 18 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • I will review this nomination. GMH Melbourne (talk) 05:07, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
    • The article is new enough (created from redirect on 10 May 2024‎), long enough, copyvio-free, and policy compliant. The hook is cited by a reliable source and is interesting. The image is in the public domain, used in the article, and is clear at 140x140px. QPQ not required. Only issue is that the lede section is too short. There are a few areas in the article that are yet to be addressed in the lede so fixing that should be only a small fix. — GMH Melbourne (talk) 05:26, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The article states that "[Barron] Trump is the youngest person to reside in the White House..." I suggest this be removed, as I see no citation of this fact, and it would seem to be that plenty of younger people have resided in the White House. For example, JFK Jr., mentioned later in the very same sentence. 173.61.47.117 (talk) 00:48, 11 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done The sentence states that Trump is the youngest person to reside in the White House since Kennedy. In addition, Trump is the first son since Kennedy. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 00:52, 11 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

At the end of his Education section, add “which is yet to be confirmed” or something like that, at the end of the sentence that says he plans to attend NYU, since it isn’t confirmed yet 2600:1001:B145:D082:9899:AEBF:84AC:CA86 (talk) 16:33, 11 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
