Well to Hell hoax[edit]

The Well to Hell section of this article alleges that the "hell sounds" audio clip was from this movie, citing Brian Dunning's Skeptoid article. Dunning does indeed mention that many people have asserted that the clip is from Baron Blood, but he explicitly states that he does not agree with that conclusion: "[A] side-by-side comparison serves mainly to convince me that Baron Blood is not the source of the audio." (Dunning goes on to conclude that the hoax audio is a looped clip from an undetermined source.) Skeptoid is the only cited source, and that article in fact comes to a conclusion contrary to what is stated in this article; thus, as it stands, the statement is unsupported by any citation, which is a problem.

I think this section is interesting and relevant and should be kept, but I would suggest re-writing it to say (citing Skeptoid) that the movie has been claimed as the source of the clip, rather than stating outright that it is in fact the source. Plot Summary[edit]

This may seem like a minor point -- but the plot summary makes it sound like the parchment burns in the fire after the first conjuring of the Baron. It does not. The two characters successfully cast the conjuring spell -- and then the spell to return the Baron to hell -- at the first conjuring. It is when they try the conjuring the Baron the *second* time... at a different moment in the film...that the parchment flies into the fire. Thus, the viewer is shown that the "return" incantation does work, or rather would have worked...etc. I just watched the movie. Chesspride 172.164.31.56 (talk) 06:05, 15 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
