Basketball all-time series[edit]

There are contradictory sentences:

  • with West Virginia holding an 93-83 advantage in the all-time series
  • WVU leads the all-time series, 92–80

Which is right? --Mwn3d (talk) 20:28, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

neither, it is 94-84 WVU. CrazyPaco (talk) 00:53, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protect[edit]

Any opposition to semi-protect? An anonymous IP is engaging in an edit war removing series records without established consensus or discussion on this talk page. CrazyPaco (talk) 06:34, 22 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

With this game being played on Friday, that is probably a good idea. Rivalry articles tend to have an increase of vandalism around gametime. —Ute in DC (talk) 06:40, 22 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Excellent point. CrazyPaco (talk) 06:47, 22 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Addition of Record Since Big East Full Membership (1991)[edit]

I felt it prudent to include this statistic due to the similarities of schedule and circumstances between both Pitt and WVU as fellow conference members.

Swcrowe (talk) 08:40, 26 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not prudent and is WP:POV. Similarities of schedules and circumstances is completely irrelevant when talking about a head-to-head series, particularly since both were eastern independents for the proceeding 20 years and played every year regardless. Your statistic is also duplicative as it is already mentioned in the text. Records since specific dates are completely arbitrary and don't occur in any infobox for any of the 109 other articles on rivalry series, regardless of conference memberships. The "last ten games" is sufficient and ubiquitously used, to avoid POV, in order to provide a snapshot of recent results. Please don't reinsert. CrazyPaco (talk) 22:32, 26 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Pitt coach was "injured"?[edit]

During the portion talking about WVU fans throwing objects onto the court, it says the Pitt coach was injured when an object was thrown at him.

To be clear, a coin of some kind hit his cheekbone. The word injury applies something much more severe than actually happened, and, IMO, should be changed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 157.182.37.91 (talk) 19:56, 30 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Nominated for temporary Semi-Protect[edit]

I nominated this page for a temporary semi-protection due to the game taking place tonight and a series of vandalism by anonymous IPs.CrazyPaco (talk) 03:51, 17 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Footnote[edit]

The entry's last sentence needs a footnote. 127W111 (talk) 22:12, 16 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
