Rating discussion[edit]

Babe: Pig in the City has two film ratings at once.

  • In theatres: PG
  • On video: G
I can't find any evidence online that the released theatrical version was rated PG by the MPAA. Can you please cite your source? Tegoweth 23:33, 22 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Well, the only website you CAN find any evidence that the released theatrical version was rated PG by the MPAA is at MovieGoods, where there's a poster for the released theatrical version that has a "PG" logo on it. See MovieGoods, then view the poster.
I believe the film was originally rated PG, but Universal edited it to get a G. So that poster was probably produced before the re-edit and re-submitting to the MPAA. I still don't think the PG version was released theatrically. tregoweth 17:46, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The film was released with a G rating theatrically, and then given a PG rating for video. Not the other way around.
No! You're WRONG! The film was released with a PG rating theatrically, and then given a G rating for video. That's what it said on the TV spot for the theatrical version.
And besides, the poster for the released theatrical version that has a "PG" logo on was produced as the film's FINAL theatrical poster and the poster for the video version that has a "G" logo on was produced as the film's video poster. [1] Dont EVER lie about that film's ratings or what version had which rating again! If you still have TV spots for the theatrical version on a blank tape, see them and those TV spots for the theatrical version end with a PG rating. I've seen Antz on VHS and there was a video trailer for Babe: Pig in the City. The video trailer ends with a G rating, not PG. If you have Antz on VHS, see the video trailer for Babe: Pig in the City. Also, when Unversal never released another feature-length animated film to theaters until Curious George in 2006, no other theatrically-released film by Universal was rated G by the MPAA unitl 2006's Curious George.69.216.115.20 (talk 17:40, February 5, 2007 (UTC)

Um, no. The IMDb and filmratings.com both list this as a G rated film.tregoweth (talk) 05:33, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You're right, it WAS rated G at the movie theaters and on home video. As for the theatrical poster showing the PG rating box, it WAS produced before it was re-rated G. It was all because the dog violence was cut except for the shot where the bull terrier pushes Babe down into the river.

Banned?[edit]

I can't believe that this film was banned in North America. It seems strange all together, banned in the US and Canada? I will delete it. If anyone can find a good source, then I'm sorry. Soetermans 18:49, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This film was banned? My local library owns it. How can that be?CM7Y

There's no nudity in the final scene[edit]

Sorry, my brother is being a pervert. He's agreed to stop, Sorry for the inconvienience.class="autosigned">—Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.52.177.124 (talk) 23:22, 16 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

How about someone with an account get rid of the bizarre assertion that there's nudity in the final scene? It's a giant inflatable pink suit under her clothes.

Since this topic is, for some incomprehensible reason, semi-protected, I can't edit it without finally creating a Wikipedia account. I don't want to create a Wikipedia account. I've edited anonymously for years just fine, thank you. I mean really, we're talking about "Babe, Pig in the City" here folks. If this needs protection, then Wikipedia has failed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.171.18.145 (talk) 20:08, 30 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
