Terrawatt hour[edit]
I tried to add
- BU, equal to terrawatt hour (TWh), a unit of energy used in India to measure annual power generation. BU mean billion units, where one unit is a kilowatt hour (kWh). Different from BTU.
but Bkonrad keeps reverting it. What is the problem with it? Do you need a source? I think it is likely people will search for "BU" to find out what a BU is. It is a rather common term related to Indian power projects. I do not think there is any need to have a whole article about "billion units". If this is some obscure rule, then WP:IAR. --Apoc2400 (talk) 17:48, 29 November 2009 (UTC)
- The abbreviation BU and the usage you describe is not mentioned on any of the linked articles. Disambiguation pages are not lists of every possible meaning of a term, but are rather navigational aids to help readers find articles that might otherwise have the same title. They are not the place to introduce details that are not supported by other articles. Please see WP:Disambiguation and WP:MOSDAB for guidelines about disambiguation pages. older ≠ wiser 18:08, 29 November 2009 (UTC)
- That's not the point. Disambiguation pages tend to accumulate all manner of trivial, unsourced, unsupported cruft. Just because an editor happens to "know" that a particular term has a particular meaning doesn't necessarily mean that sense needs to be included on a disambiguation page. But in any case, the source you cited [1] doesn't actually support the claim you make. older ≠ wiser 18:59, 29 November 2009 (UTC)
Ok, good. I could make the item on this page shorter if you want. --Apoc2400 (talk) 20:26, 29 November 2009 (UTC)
- The Indian government uses the term."v.The estimated peak electricity demand (GW) and electrical energy
requirement (BU) in the years 2021-22, 2026-27 and 2029-30 are given in Table 3." (page 9) https://cea.nic.in/old/reports/others/planning/irp/Optimal_mix_report_2029-30_FINAL.pdf
