Move page back to BD+14 4559 b?

Unfortunately, the proper name, despite being official, is not in common use. This is the same for HD 38283 b, HD 86081 b, HD 221287 b, and WASP-13b, which are referred to their proper names but not in common use.

You won't get any objection from me, but best to wait a while and see if a formal move discussion is going to be needed. It is quite a while since the first (undiscussed) move and it might be stretching things a bit to just revert it. Lithopsian (talk) 20:19, 3 July 2020 (UTC)

As for the stars, probably even more true. The planets are relatively "unknown" other than by their new IAU names, while their host stars all have designations going back 100 years or more. I reverted quite a few at the time. Might be best to get a list together, but they might need discussing separately to avoid a WP:TRAINWRECK. Lithopsian (talk) 20:22, 3 July 2020 (UTC)

I agree that it should go back to using the scientifically accepted name agreed upon by the IAU. Plenty of astronomical objects have nick names but wikipedia does not use them for article titles. For instance 2012 VP113 was nicknamed 'Biden' and PSR B1620−26 b was nicknamed 'Methuselah'. Neither of which use the nickname in the article title. There are probably dozens of examples I could find. This article's name is out of line with the rest of wikipedia. It's also true that nicknames are almost never used in the relevant scientific literature. 146.168.31.85 (talk) 10:20, 15 July 2020 (UTC)

Like the BD+14 4559 page, it was moved several times. I think it’s ready to move the proper names of exoplanets to their original ones, as I know that the proper names aren’t in widespread use. Also do that to their stars, unless the page name of the stars is their designation. Bsslover371 (talk) 00:09, 21 August 2020 (UTC)
