I have extended this page adding considerable detail. Although I left the original entries and lone reference intact, I doubt it's veracity. the Dictionary of Deities listed in my references is used in academic circles, and states that "the name [Aya] is of unknown etymology." It then cites other discussions and an argument for Aya being derived from the semitic root *HYY meaning "to live." Furthermore an (admittedly casual) search through the Chicago Assyrian Dictionary turned up no entry for Aya (aja, A-A). Zoweee (talk) 19:42, 11 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
