Interesting fact[edit]

In a letter to a friend he said in 2006 (presumably, when autorship rights wore off?) new things would be added to the biography, which would cause some of his relatives to be burnt alive in other times. Anyone knows what happened of this?

"Chapters from my Autobiography"[edit]

Please consider adding the following information to this article:

While Twain's autobiography was not published until after his death, "Chapters from my Autobiography" by Mark Twain were published in a serial format in 25 issues of the North American Review (v. 183-186, 1906-07). thistlechick 04:27, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Also, LibriVox has a recording of these "Chapters" available for free: http://librivox.org/chapters-from-my-authobiography-by-mark-twain/ thistlechick 12:48, 18 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Marktwadfkndj.jpg[edit]

Image:Marktwadfkndj.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Section titled "Volumes 2 and 3"[edit]

This is a misreading of Twain's statement in the newly published volume, and I am going to delete it. Twain clearly says that the second and third *editions* of the complete book should come out at 25-year intervals, to allow more and more personal or offensive material to be published. The three-volume format is one created by the current publishers, based only on the size of the complete text, and it is all currently scheduled for publication now that 100 years have bassed since Twain's death. The 2035 date, etc., are erroneous speculation by the poster. Chip (talk)
