Missing information[edit]

This article should not be deleted, as it is a useful topic on which to have an article; it does, however, need some work. For a start, it doesn't explain the zone defence very well – the current explanation might be adequate for readers familiar with the basketball tactic of the same name from which it is derived, but for readers not familiar with this, more explanation is needed. It also makes no mention whatsoever of the forward press. Or of putting a loose man in defence. Or of the horseshoe (going backwards and switching the ball from one side to the other to open up space). Or even of differences between playing through the corridor or on the wing or along the boundary line. It doesn't even mention tagging key opposition players. And all of this is before we even get to the subtler stuff, such as deciding who to play where, and who to play on whom.

In short, there is a lot of information that needs to be added to this article to give it some semblance of comprehensiveness. 118.209.74.102 (talk) 17:29, 5 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
