Term "Gneisenau"[edit]

In John Toland_(author)'s 100 Days, a general is mentioned to Hitler who asks, "Is he a Gneisenau?" -- certainly no longer in vogue, it seems like at one point, Gneisenau meant maybe "a very dedicated defender" and perhaps something to this effect should be mentioned in the article.--Jrm2007 (talk) 01:00, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Pronounciation[edit]

A guide for that would be helpful; I've always pronounced it with a silent G and the last syllable rhyming with "how", but I have heard it other ways. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Statalyzer (talk • contribs) 22:59, 18 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
