Who is the first president?[edit]

"The ASL was founded in 1936, and its first president was Alonzo Church.", but in section List of presidents, it is Curt John Ducasse. —wi24rd 🤙 06:49, 7 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

According to the ASL website (http://aslonline.org/journals/reviews/), Alonzo Church founded and was the first editor of the reviews section: "the Reviews Section was founded by Alonzo Church, who was its editor from 1936 until 1979". The ASL website (https://aslonline.org/about-the-asl/former-officers-council-members-and-executive-committee-members/) lists C.J. Ducasse as the first president. It looks like the first paragraph in the Wikipedia article contradicts both the list of presidents table in the same article, and the ASL website. 2A00:23C7:908B:E100:5EEA:1DFF:FE7C:1FFD (talk) 22:00, 12 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Given that the source given in the article itself contradicts this line in the introduction, I have taken the liberty to replace the name of Alonzo Church to that of C.J. Ducasse. Tommpouce (talk) 17:33, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
