Depth?[edit]

I would like to know more about how this organization is run and what the members go through. Before I even researched it, I came to the conclusion that it was a pyramid scheme and I'd like to know if I'm right. My grandfather is a member and he recently told my family that hes going to be busy every single weekend for the rest of his life, going to various seminars run by ARE. I think he ends up paying alot for it too. As a child I have a vague memory of going to a summer camp with him but all we really did is hang out. I think we talked about Edgar Cayce as a group for ten minutes or so and that was it. I also read an Edgar Cayce book on his "prophecies" and saw a few documentaries on him. I remember seeing this drawing of a cave in some Cayce publication that I think went under the foot of the Sphinx and then forward a bit until it had a much farther drop downward and then there was a door to go through that led to alien technolody. Edgar Cayce's prediction I think was that this was to be found in the year 2000. I remember watching Fox a few years after that and they had a live documentary on this new entrance they found that was exactly as Cayce had predicted (as best as I can recall), only they stopped short of entering the room with the alien technology as they were out of time. The only problem with that is that it could've been a set-up. Fox is the channel that has all the loony shows like "Moon Landing: Fact or Fiction?" or the alien autopsies that someone supposedly just sent in anonymously. Anyway, I could really use some more in-depth information on what members have to go through.

The A.R.E. is a non profit organization that makes available the Edgar Cayce readings. The A.R.E. library is the largest metaphysical library on the east coast. It is absolutely NOTHING like a pyramid scheme! There was a pyramid behind the old office building on the hill...that's the only thing I can think of that would even make you mention a pyramid! Members receive discounts on seminars...and they are NOT held every week....not even every month! They cover a wide range of subjects as well. A cult is secret and inclusive...the A.R.E. is not a cult and certainly not inclusive! They make available the E.C. readings to all that are interested. Even Cayce said that his readings may not be for everyone...he said if you read them and find them uncomfortable with your way of belief...leave the readings. It is rather a spiritual (not religious) organization. Even though Cayce was a Christian, he welcomed all faiths. There is no alien technology! Edgar Cayce said the Hall of Records would be found under the Sphinx. The Sphinx has a high water table under it and there lies the problems. The staff at A.R.E. welcomes seekers and individuals looking for a deeper understanding into life...and death. They do not have "fortune-tellers"...they do offer information on alternative medical procedures. They have Study Groups (A Search For God group)around the world that study the spiritual readings that Cayce gave. You can join & attend these groups for FREE I worked in the Study Group Dept. for 4 yrs. I find your views way off course. The ARE isn't a pyramid scheme, or a cult the way you have in mind. The worst you could say about them is that as a group, they seem wedded to some rather peculiar views which they want to get other people to believe as well (i.e. just like every other religious group in the world, though they don't really like to think of themselves as one) and that the organization has a bunch of stuff they want to sell to people. Membership itself is really not very expensive, but if your grandfather has decided to go to conferences every weekend (or patronize their fortune-tellers and alternative health providers), yeah, that can eat up his money. The ARE is nothing to do with a pyramid scheme or anything else like that. It is an organisation founded out of the love and appreciation for Edgar Cayce and his material. His propehcies and readings are incredibly accurate. He was a remarkable man and the ARE was set up to house all his wonderful information so that it didn't disappear and is available in the current day for research. My own experience with the A.R.E. (since 1970) has been only helpful and positive. I have attended Congress twice (1987 and 1997), been a member whenever I could afford it and attended workshops, etc. The work of Edgar Cayce is unparalleled and deserves to be studied before it is criticized.

There is nothing that "members go through". As with any organization, if you are interested in its work, you join, otherwise you don't. Attending any organization's seminars, workshops or classes costs money - if you attend many, you will spend lots of money.

Coming to conclusions without doing any research doesn't say much for one's research methods. The A.R.E. is not a cult or pyramid scheme (where did that come from?). It is an organization formed to preserve Edgar Cayce's work, to study it, and to publish the findings that result from the studies. This work is ongoing and anyone may be part of it who chooses. From this work we get another perspective on who we are, why we are here in the earth, and where we may choose to go. Most of the work was to do with physical healing. I have used many of the suggested remedies, always with good results. As with anything, I suggest people read, study, test, then form conclusions.

The "A Search For God" study groups, both face-to-face and internet, have helped many people over the years to develop spiritually, to understand and use spiritual laws, and to serve others more effectively. They have given us a place to work with like-minded people who wish to be more aware of the Christ self within and to manifest greater love towards God, themselves and others.

There is much more to the A.R.E. I hope you will make time to do some real research.
