"The four MxK brothers are the children of a Sydney GP of Pakistani origin" The GP link goes to a disambiguation page, and it isn't clear what page the GP is referring to. Ethnicity of victims[edit]

Sorry, but it has a great deal to do with the perpetrators' ethnicity. They were raised in an environment that did not promote the victims' right to respect. The brothers, and their father, had no respect for the values of Australian lifestyle, and the right to live in a free and open society. They brought with them, and sought to enforce, a misogynystic view of gender that is inconsistent with the position of mainstream Australia. WWGB (talk) 13:12, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Names of the Assailants[edit]

Does the supression order apply to Wikipedia? It seems a bit inane given that their full names are readily available to anybody with the ability to search the internet. Also, is it reasonable to include the full name of a 13 year old girl that they raped but still protect their anonimity?

Actually, the Paul Sheehnan book GIRLS LIKE YOU delkves heavily into the ASHFIELD GANG RAPES and its related crimes, and reveals the names of all those involved (with the exception of supressing the surname of the K Brothers). I own the book but don't have it with me for current reference. I'll rewrite the article to include the names when I have it.

I think that editors of this article should also be aware that Australia has some Court suppression laws that have extra-jurisdictional effect, so apply to everyone. The offence is committed if the publication is available in Australia, even if the publisher is not. So the answer to the question: "Does the suppression order apply to Wikipedia?" is "Yes", since Wikipedia can be read in Australia. Cultural issues[edit]

The one reference cited doesn't support the statements in this section, which are misleading. Unless references can be found which support the allegations made about a clash of cultures, the reprimand of the judge to the rapists lawyers, etc. this section will need to be edited to accurately reflect the reference provided.Eyedubya 23:30, 13 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Biography banner[edit]

Why does this article have a WikiProject Biography banner? This article is about a series of crimes, not a person. The scope of WikiProject Biography says it "... includes only articles about individual persons ..." or if "... a substantial section of the article is a biography of a person related to that organization or group ..." The names of many of the individuals connected with these crimes are suppressed by Court Orders, or perhaps even the statutory law of Australia, so even mentioning those names is likely to be a criminal offence for Wikipedia in Australia. Since names cannot be mentioned, I don't think biographies can be written. Also, I think WP:BLP1E or WP:LOWPROFILE also apply. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 09:40, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
