Untitled[edit]

I have changed every single line that may look similar to the ones in the metal archives page. I did rewrite the information entirely in my own words.

OK. Does it really meet notability requirements for bands? Ian.thomson (talk) 20:35, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The band was featured in an international distributed magazine, Rock Sound, and their 2 albums and 2 EPs have been published internationally through official record labels including Peaceville Records. They also have two offical music videos displayed in national TV through metal shows in Spain and South America.

Bring in the reference for the Rock Sound article (issue, year, page number, if possible a weblink), and the article will get to stay. Also, please sign your posts with four tidles (~~~~). Ian.thomson (talk) 20:47, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm going to take off the speedy deletion tag for a little bit, so you have time to get the issue, year, and page numbers for that article of Rock Sound. Please hurry though, we don't like to leave unsourced info up for long. Ian.thomson (talk) 20:54, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article is featured from pages 42 to 44. The tittle of the magazine is "Rock Sound Very Metal VI" Special No. 16- 4.95€, and I bought it in EL Salvador in 2004. It also feature articles by other metal bands: Stratovarius, Satyricon, Anthrax, Luca Turilli (from Rhapsody), Symphony X, HammerFall, Amon Amarth, Opeth, Napalm Death, Therion, Immolation, Masterplan, Lost Horizon, Sebastian Bach (from Skidrow), Kamelot, Lacuna Coil and Arch Enemy.

OK, I'm inserting it as a reference. Ian.thomson (talk) 22:00, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you.

Stratogustav (talk) 23:05, 18 January 2010 (UTC)Gustavo Avilés[reply]

Thanks for sitting down and talking about it. There's a lot of folks that just remove the speedy deletion tag until they get banned and complain without trying to find out how to fix the article. It really is nice to see an article not get deleted for once. So, thank you. Ian.thomson (talk) 23:16, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I admire your work. By the way I noticed that in the reference it says 2004, but the magazine is from 2003 not 2004, I bought it on 2004 but the exact date they provide is 04/30/03.

Oops, sorry. Ian.thomson (talk) 02:01, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. Thanks again.

Stratogustav (talk) 02:39, 19 January 2010 (UTC)Gustavo Avilés[reply]

New tags have been added by someone about notability. I don't understand why. It is important to clarify that the band is not longer active and this is the reason why there are not current references to the band, all references about tours and publications are at least 7 years old.

Stratogustav (talk) 01:22, 20 January 2010 (UTC)Gustavo Avilés[reply]

It's not a deletion tag (and it's not going to turn into one), but additional sources are always more than welcome. Hopefully others that know about this band that have other articles about them will be able to help, so you don't have to worry about maintaining the article by yourself (although you're doing a great job). Ian.thomson (talk) 01:36, 20 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That's good to know. The article has been up only for one day, so I was a little worried. Thanks for clarifying.

Stratogustav (talk) 01:49, 20 January 2010 (UTC)Gustavo Avilés[reply]

I linked two other articles that mentioned the band on Wikipedia to help with the Orphan tag and I added a new reference to help with the notability tag.

Note[edit]

Just so there is a record... genres are not capitalised per WP:MOS. This means it is "black metal" not "Black Metal". There are occasionally exceptions, such as "Viking metal", where "Viking" is a proper noun. Secondly, genre is often contentious, so please provide a source for anything you wish to include... see WP:RS for guidance, and note that it excludes pretty much all webzine reviews and biographies unless they have been independently (and commercially) published; all such links will be removed as spam per WP:EL if used for things like genre. Blackmetalbaz (talk) 22:51, 20 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have now changed the intro from "Asgaroth was a Black Metal band" to "Asgaroth was a black metal band". Thanks for clarifying.
