Just a question... where did you find this classification of the genus? GRIN says it has only two species, A. donax and A. pliniana. The link you cited seems to provide no informations. Carnby

IPNI gives 311 names, including synonyms. JoJan 18:27, 4 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
My references agree on 2-3 species; it is (unfortunately!) normal for conspicuous plants like these to pick up over a hundred synonyms each, mostly very obscure and never used by anyone other than the original author, but which have to be listed by IPNI - MPF 17:28, 13 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

We propose to expand the Giant Reed page to be a more comprehensive look at Arundo donax and to describe its impacts as an invasive species as seen in California. Please add information from other regions. On December 9, 2005, we will post an Arundo donax page, add a Giant reed pointer page to A. donax, and add a link for A. donax on the genus page and the List of Invasive Species page.--PBG250 23:56, 5 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

We incorporated the information on Arundo donax into a page on Arundo donax.--PBG250 00:04, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the section entitled Problems Associated with Arundo. It dealt exclusively with the species Arundo donax, whose article already contains this information. SheepNotGoats (Talk) 19:38, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ditto for the Arundo as a biofuel section. SheepNotGoats (Talk) 19:41, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ditto (should that be tritto?) for the information about Alkaloids. Coverage in the Arundo donax article is better. Thomas Kluyver (talk) 14:12, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
