Meagre[edit]

All information seems to end in 1852. Admittedly from their website they no longer aid needy and penurious artists, or anyone poor, as they were instituted to do [ unlike their confreres the Artists General Benevolent Institution, which nobly continues ], but instead work with favoured 'educational bodies' to fund their proteges; but something must have happened in the last 170 years...


The Artists’ Benevolent Fund no longer supports artists directly. We now work with Higher Education Institutions to distribute funds to selected graduating students.
