Story pairing variations

This is regarding episodes 1/156 and 8/163. I only noticed this because I PVR from multiple stations.

  • Today (Dec 2) at 7:30AM on PBS the pairing No Acting Please / Prunella Deegan and the Disappointing Ending aired.
  • Wednesday (Dec 7) at 7:30AM on PBS the pairing Fernlets by Fern / Prunella and the Haunted Locker is scheduled to air.

I would link archives of TV schedules to prove this but I am not sure how to do that for PBS because their schedules are behind a popup that needs zip/state which I think would mess up the bot, plus I only have postal/province.

This seemed odd because I remembered watching these this week on TVO but in character-respective pairings:

It appears that what they did here, rather than having two Fern/Prunella episodes, that they swapped them around so it was instead broadcast as a Fern/Fern and a Prunella/Prunella pair of episodes. Given that I've cited some sources I am just wondering how we can represent this in the table.

This has me wondering if TVO has done it in other cases. I'm going to assume our episode list articles are based on PBS' arrangement but I don't check them every time... I've looked ahead and found some other examples on the list:

  • http://archive.is/uifeD Monday (Dec 5) at 7:56 AM on TVO is scheduled The Secret Guardians / The Secret Origins of Supernova. It says original air date 11-FEB-11 so TVO must have had this arrangement for a while.
    • 7/162 "The Portrait of the Artist as a Young Tibble / The Secret Guardians"
    • 10/165 "Looking for Bonnie / The Secret Origin of Supernova"

When I view the remote TV guide, Dec 8 TVO has PBS' Bonnie/Supernova pairing listed, but when I checked their website http://archive.is/vtn2X it lists:

  • Looking for Bonnie/ The Pride of Lakewood

Also season 13 so it's convenient to keep the discussion on this talk. At present this already gives me cause to list "Origins" as an alt title. Here's another:

  • http://archive.is/HQQnE Wednesday (Dec 7) at 7:56 AM on TVO is scheduled Kung Fool; George and the Missing Puzzle Piece
    • 2/157 "The Silent Treatment / Kung Fool"

I can't even find GatMPP on the list, which makes me wonder if it goes by an alternate title on PBS or something. In doing a search I found http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1526779/ which paired it with Paradise Lost, but our table pairs that with "The Pride of Lakewood".

Due to my cable guide going 2 weeks ahead and the website going only 1 week ahead, I need to cite the PDF guide for the month for a notable December 14th pairing of "Muffy and the Big Bad Blog; I Wanna Hold Your Hand" which we have listed as:

  • s14e7/172 "Around the World in 11 Minutes / Muffy and the Big Bad Blog"
  • s15e2/177 "I Wanna Hold Your Hand / Whistling in the Wind"

Since I can't archive http://tvo.org/schedule/2016-12-14 yet until it appears, I'll hold off and maybe bring this up at List of Arthur Episodes in a week or so, since it has to do with cross-seasonal swapping. Ranze (talk) 13:47, 2 December 2016 (UTC)
