This article needs work which I cannot perform while traveling, i.e. away from Virginia history rooms. I remember hearing about a controversy involving this Lee, and thought it financial rather than relating to his anti-slavery pamphlet of 1767 which Nash says was read more in Britian than Virginia. Would be very interested in the links between this Lee, Councillor Robert Carter III (who emancipated slaves starting in 1791 or 1792) and George Mason (d. 1792). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jweaver28 (talk • contribs) 12:57, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
