Vivid account[edit]

"..is said to be one of the most vivid accounts of daily life in the trenches."

I've seen this quote around, and I just read the book, and can report that very little of it takes place "in the trenches", most of it is training and homefront. He has a few good lines here and there, in particular in one of his poems, but if your reading the book based on that quote, I'm sure not it holds up. Still worthwhile checking out for the WWI and/or literary buff. Green Cardamom (talk) 03:17, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
