Flags of the Armed Forces[edit]

I have seen a photograph from the Turkmen military parade of October 2011. One of the flying helicopters appeared to fly the Turkmen state flag under it, as well as the flags of the 3 branches of armed forces. From top to bottom the flags appear to be that of the State, Air Force, Land Force and Navy respectively. Could someone make these? The photograph is at [1]. Thanks in advance to any future contributors.

Orphaned references in Armed Forces of Turkmenistan[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Armed Forces of Turkmenistan's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "sipri":

  • From 122 mm howitzer 2A18 (D-30): "Trade Registers". armstrade.sipri.org. Archived from the original on 5 August 2009. Retrieved 13 January 2018.
  • From Turkmen Air Force: "Arms Transfers Database". Stockholm International Peace Research Institute. Retrieved 15 April 2020.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 05:54, 30 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming 2nd and 11th Divisions[edit]

Dear Wreck Smurfy, AyodeleA2, Kges1901, WP:MILMOS#UNITNAME stipulates that a military formation's name should be at the most current version. Wreck Smurfy has done some amazing work on the history of Red Army rifle divisions, and now Ayodele A1/A2 etc has added the correct current namings in Turkmen service. Thus I propose to rename now 357th Rifle Division as 2nd Training Motor Rifle Division "Alp Arslan" and 344th Rifle Division as 11th Motor Rifle Division "Atamyrat Niyazov". The current redirect for 11 MRD is too confusing for a wide range of Soviet and Soviet bloc formations, including some previous ones in Eastern Europe. Any comments before I go ahead and make these changes? Buckshot06 (talk) 20:47, 26 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have no objections. Incidentally I'm currently researching the 97th Rifle Division, one of the thrice-formed divisions you asked me to do some time ago. Wreck Smurfy (talk) 21:43, 26 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I concur. I just created the 2nd division. AyodeleA2 (talk) 22:09, 26 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No. It's the same formation with the same history -- it IS the 357th Rifle Division. Let me demonstrate. Buckshot06 (talk) 23:35, 26 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Oh! Now I see. In that case go ahead with the other division as well. AyodeleA2 (talk) 23:46, 26 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
