Afar or Amhara?[edit]

The Summary and Statistical Report of the 2007 Population and Housing Census Results (pdf) is placing the Argoba special woreda in the Amhara region, not in Afar as stated in the article. So, which region is correct?--Pjred (talk) 19:55, 16 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

However, it also shows Argoba Liyu as a wereda in Zone 3 of Afar region. Has the wereda perhaps been split in two and divided between Afar and Amhara? Does anyone, including the Ethiopians, have the faintest idea what is happening with administrative boundaries in that country? Skinsmoke (talk) 14:14, 25 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
My suspicion is that there are two special woredas for the Argobba people; I've seen this happen with other woredas in Ethiopia, due to conflicts between ethnic groups over territory. But until I can discover exactly what is happening here, best to leave this article sourced but outdated, instead of up-to-date but unsourced. (If you want to query the Ethiopian government, be my guest; however, I have yet to receive an answer to any of my emails to Ethiopian officials.) -- llywrch (talk) 18:38, 25 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
yES. It should be added if any sources can be given Zekenyan (talk) 15:26, 4 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
