Birthdate[edit]

Answeres.com says he was born on october 7. Which is correct? Chef Evon 19:20, 25 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Huh. When I edited this article I didn't even look at the birthdate. I'm inclined to check a real encyclopedia first, so after I validate that I'll be sure to update it. Torie 01:46, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Changed the birthdate to October 7 and cited what seems like a reputable reference . They, in turn, cited the Art Institute. Pknkly (talk)

Article class rating[edit]

The article may well be on the threshold for being a "B". However, without a citation for the questionable birthdate I ranked it as a "c". Pknkly (talk) 22:41, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I added the citation for the birthdaate. I believe the article is a low "B". Please review Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Assessment/B-Class criteria and make changes to give it a solid "B" or move it up to an even higher rating. Pknkly (talk) 23:28, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry - I looked at the article closer and it is needing citations and references. I marked a couple of these within the article. Hope someone will clean these up. Until then, I'm changing my rating to "start". Pknkly (talk) 00:06, 29 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Assessment comment[edit]

The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:Archibald Motley/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.

The information about where Archibald grew up is incorrect. It states that his was the only Black famiy in the community and this is not true. Englewood was 2% African American at the turn of the twentieth century, a tiny but significant so-called "Black Spot" in the community. Also, Englewood is better known as a working and middle class community not an affluent one. I don't see anything in the article that says he grew up in Englewood. It doesn't say where he lived in Chicgo. So, the statement is way to general. I removed it because it doesn't seem to have any relevance without it saying where he grew up. Just in case - is there a citation for the 2% figure? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pknkly (talkcontribs) 23:58, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
