I'm trying to cover 150-odd years before Bentinck. Before that, I have added Widmore's list to the article, though given the age and acknowledged incompleteness of the source, this was perhaps not a good idea. I have found the following sources. Grateful for input from @DBD:, and anyone else who might make a useful contribution. Is this information usable? LookLook36 (talk) 23:52, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
1843, 1846, 1849 - William Bentinck (His tenure as Archdeacon was previously backdated to 1809, when he was appointed to the prebend. I have used 1854, which is supported by sources but otherwise dubious (see his page, note B).
Oh wow. I don't think it occurred to me there were Archdeacons of Westminster before Bentinck. Alas they aren't listed in fasti ecclesiae Anglicanae (though the Canons are! [1]). I wonder if @Bashereyre: can think of a great source. The Clergy List (from 1861) and Crockford (and 1888) might be helpful; but I only have access to most of those in the flesh what Lampeth Palace Library reopens. I'll keep thinking on it. Good work.
