Anthropology category?

There has been some recent backing and forthing regarding the addition of Category:Anthropology to the article. Category:Archaeology is already categorized under Anthropology, and at first glance it seems superfluous to add the parent category explicitly. After reading related bits of WP:MOS without finding clear guidance, I'm not so sure about that. Discuss? Just plain Bill (talk) 15:33, 27 December 2018 (UTC)

I'm also confused. Although note that we're not talking about the addition of the category, but its removal by Rathfelder. It's been in the article for years. – Joe (talk) 15:49, 27 December 2018 (UTC)

Problems in the sub-sub-section of "Holocaust Archaeology"

This section seems to be entirely copy-pasted from someone's essay online. That goes against the encyclopedic style of Wikipedia. Furthermore, there is no inline citations in the text. I see that there are footnotes at the end of this section. However, the prose makes this section inappropriate enough to justify a removal. Feel free to write this section again. @Sociable Song: When you say "copy-pasted from someone's essay online", have you actually found the original source? I googled a few phrases at random and couldn't find anything. But if it is copied, we might need to delete the old versions as copyright violations.

If not, it seems a shame to lose so much content that could be improved. I'd suggest cleaning it up and moving it to a new article (e.g. Archaeology of the Holocaust) and writing a short summary here. – Joe (talk) 18:22, 18 January 2020 (UTC)

User:Paptilian, archaeological reports, images, library

Greetings, I've stumbled upon source data for Uncompahgre Complex, dealing with time periods, rock art, other stuff. Unfortunately, I am no archaeologist. The source data is stored on Commons, and I have User page User:Paptilian/Draft of the Outline of Colorado for the WikiProject: Colorado#Early Civilizations (this at wikipedia). I am also uploading some images, from the BLM Reports. I would like to input as much data into the WikiData Project, alas, I am novice. Would someone like to communicate? This commons user page I will data mine for WikiData, all under category archaeology, could someone at archaeology help me do this?
