"watering place"[edit]

I understand that in British English, "watering place" means a seaside resort or health spa, but that's only because I looked it up. For speakers of non-British English, "watering place" means a place where animals come to drink water. It's clear from the context that the former meaning was the author's intent, but perhaps a different phrase would be less confusing and conjure up more enticing images for people who aren't familiar with the British terminology. How about "Arcachon is a popular seaside resort, with a fine beach..."? Thanks! --Mpwrmnt 09:07, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I was mislead too. "Watering-place" makes you think of a pond with animals drinking water around it. I suppose Wiki users are mostly English speaking international people, only a minority are British regionals. I vote for the proposed change. Uffe 17:06, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bathing Location?[edit]

I assume this means something like a spa resort. I'm guessing this article was written by a french person since it refers to people with pulmonary problems as 'invalids'. Perhaps someone can clear the article up a bit? Darktangent (talk) 23:33, 15 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
