Arabian Gulf University[edit]

Such a Gulf as Arabian Gulf does NOT exists at all, then a more appropriate name for this University would be "Arabian University of the PERSIAN GULF". please refer to the History book. (Comment left by 129.176.151.7)

The name of the Arabian Gulf University is indeed the Arabian Gulf University. Please see all references in the article that call it the Arabian Gulf University and the Arabian Gulf University website to confirm that (there is a link in English on the Arabian Gulf University homepage if you need it). If you wish to change the name in the article from Arabian Gulf University to something along the lines of "Persian Gulf" instead, please provide reliable sources.Ha! If the principals of this university agree with the real name "Persian Gulf", then why do you bother yourself and mislead the audience by the false name "Arabian gulf" University? It would be appropriate to respect the internationally known territories by using a correct terminology. “Arabian University of the Persian Gulf" is a more appropriate name for your university; we also have the "Persian Gulf University". It is surprising how you made a Gulf (Arabian Gulf) just at the same time that you made a University! while there has been only one Gulf (the Persian Gulf) in the region for several thousand years how did you discover a new Gulf? —Preceding unsigned comments added by 129.176.151.9 (talk) and 129.176.151.9 (talk)
I bother because the name of the university is the Arabian Gulf University. If the Arabian Gulf University was called Bob and you kept trying to change it's name to Bill, I would revert the name back to Bob every time. On Wikipedia there isn't an "appropriate" name for the Arabian Gulf University, there is just it's actual name, which is currently Arabian Gulf University. If you can get the Arabian Gulf University to change the name of their university to something other than the Arabian Gulf University, you can then change their name on Wikipedia. I didn't make the gulf an Arabian or a Persian one, I honestly don't care what you or anyone else calls the gulf or what your politics is or anyone else's politics is. It's so completely irrelevant to me that I'm literally yawning with boredom as I type. I also didn't discover a new gulf or any gulf at all, not now, yesterday, a thousand years ago or millions or billions of years go (when it was probably just called stardust) - so you shouldn't be surprised that I have. Yes, the Gulf is internationally known as Persian Gulf, and we're not trying to change it. You can read more here: Persian Gulf naming dispute. Nevertheless, the name of this particular university is Arabian Gulf University. And unless the university changes its name, we shouldn't try to change it to anything else. --Kimse (talk) 06:22, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Do we need a full section on the Persian/Arabian Gulf naming dispute? —C.Fred (talk) 16:09, 7 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
