Name of the article[edit]

Don't we have the codename for this operation? "Action of 9 April 2009" is very vague and doesn't give any indication to what the article is about. If we don't have the operation codename, maybe we should rename the article to something more descriptive. Chamal talk 03:39, 12 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's already renamed. The new name's better but not perfect. But we can do with that for now unless anyone has any objections? Chamal talk 03:40, 12 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Im sorry but the name you provided is even more ambiguous. In naval terminology any unamed battle is listed as The Action of (insert the date the Battle occured)). see the example Action of 10 November 1808 which is ranked as a good article. There was a previous similar action where a different french yacht was stormed by french troops and the title you provided is very confusing to which incident this article applies to. Therefore unless someone can find the official french name of the operation i suggest leaving it under proper naming conventions as established by precident of the scores of articles listed as Action of (insert date).

XavierGreen (talk) 05:56, 12 April 2009 (UTC) Xavier Green, I agree, I have been trying to explain it but they think that the proper term for un-named naval battles is not proper somehow. Ridiculous I know. --Az81964444 (talk) 23:55, 18 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Calling this a "naval battle" is like calling the U.S, invasion of Granada an international war. Both are technically correct. I would rather consider this to be a news event, that occurred over several days, or weeks, if you include the entire voyage of the Tanit. I would re-name the acticle "Tanit (yacht)" The "battle" is an important part of the history of the vessel, but only relevant in light of the whole story.
