What is aplite? How did it form? What country did it come from? How is the rock used to help our everyday living or if it doesnt help our everyday living?

Rewrite[edit]

I've been looking at this article for years now, trying to work out how to rewrite it. It's not that most of the EB text is wrong, it's just that it misses out, for instance, on the important association with pegmatites. This has come into prominence in more recent years thanks to these becoming a target for their associated Lithium mineralisation. Also we have a definition from Le Maitre et al. "Aplite. A term used both for fine-grained granitic rocks, consisting only of feldspar and quartz, and as a group name for any leucocratic fine-grained to aphanitic dyke rock." There are no review papers though (that I've found so far), so it's hard to work out a really global view. Mikenorton (talk) 09:06, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Now rewritten using more recent sources. I will add something on their importance regarding Li mineralisation at some point. Mikenorton (talk) 16:15, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
