Name Origin?[edit]

The quoted material is from a Florida State website, but it seems implausible. King Charles II wasn't born until 1661, after Ponce de Leon's trip to Florida. Philip IV of Spain is more likely. Also was Ponce de Leon the one? Did he get this far north on his voyages? Hernando de Soto in 1539 seems more likely.

Earthquake[edit]

Doesn't really belong to the town of Anna Maria. 250 miles WSW of the town would seem to indicate it should be in Florida's article, if any. Needs deletion. Student7 (talk) 19:46, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
