At WikiProject Cornwall we subscribe to the policies laid down by Wikipedia - particularly civility and consensus building. We are aware that the wording on Cornish entries can sometimes be a contentious topic, especially those concerning geography. You don't have to agree with everything but there is no excuse for rudeness and these things are best solved through consensus building and compromise. For more information see WP:CornwallGuideline.
These pages are not platforms for political discussion. Issues relating to Cornish politics should be restricted to those pages that directly deal with these issues (such as Constitutional status of Cornwall, Cornish nationalism, etc) and should not overflow into other articles.
Most of all have fun editing - that's the reason we all do this, right?!
Regarding this, see Wikipedia:Copyright in lists. Facts can't be copyrighted, but the decision to include some facts but not others in a list can be copyrighted if that decision involves creativity. For example a list of all books written by a certain author can't be copyrighted, but a selected list of books could be if those books are what the compiler believes are the most illustrative or significant ones. The copyright is claimed on that judgement. Here it looks like the entries have been selected by the author to illustrate their point about the origins of the surname. I'm surprised. Nothing surprises me when it comes to copyright law. Thanks for clarifying. To tell you the truth, the source from much that list was taken does not look like the most reliable. I expect a better one could be found. Martinevans123 (talk) 18:31, 21 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
