Suggestion[edit]
While I appreciate your using my paragraphs to create this article - obviously I got carried away on Ajaccio and put material in there that belongs in general history, and we are going to have to do the same with the Napoleon stuff - still I didn't use that first paragraph because being too compact it is mainly wrong. I therefore suggest that you rewrite it from sources. Pasquale was less of a hero after the French revolution than he had been before, especially after his betrayal of Napoleon. He was not invited back from exile - he came back on his own and kissed the ground at Macinaggio - remember? That was in 1790. The National Assembly did not send him back to Corsica - he ran for office there after his return. Whether they ever had him in Paris I do not know but I doubt it - have you got a source on that? As far as I know when he finally was invited to Paris he was not very eager to go, as there was a warrant for his arrest. He would have lost his head. And finally, you have totally left out that man who worshipped the ground on which Paoli walked, the man who WAS in Corsica and Paris in 1789, the man who practically brought the French revolution to Corsica himself, who was a Jacobin there, and who created the office to which Paoli was then elected - the man who was so angry at Paoli's betrayal of him that he got him virtually sentenced to death and drove him into the arms of the English - in short, we need some mention of Napoleon Bonaparte. That is why I deleted and did not use that first paragraph. I'm going to work on some other Corsican stuff for a while but I do hope you will rewrite that first paragraph. I may be back to it later. Flag/arms[edit]
The article and the link says the flag is the arms of Corsica(the moor's head) and that of the King(George III of UK) united in a way to be determined by the King. Does anyone know if this was done? Tinynanorobots (talk) 22:59, 4 December 2011 (UTC)
