André[edit]

I looked up the quoted Springer opus by André in our library. It turns out that "M." stands for Michel. At the time of writing that book, he gave his affiliation as École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne. I'm afraid I do not know more about him; not even whether he was of French or Swiss extraction; but probably someone should write an article about him. After googling, I now also know that he stayed in Lausanne until he died in an accident in July, 2009: See http://www.commalg.org/2009/08/michel-andre/. JoergenB (talk) 22:21, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
