I'm confused - if the team has existed for less than 10 years, how could they have records dating back to the 1920's? - IstvanWolf 04:19, 21 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure, but I bet "Koldo burgers, Ildefons Limabeans" aren't real names. Google brings no hits.

during the game against england on wednesday i' sure a comentator said the country has only 32 registered footballers, but i have yet to find a source that can cite this. i'll keep looking Numberwang 15:10, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

there are 171 registerd players but only 42 of them are andorran. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/sport/football.html?in_article_id=445077&in_page_id=1779 --Numberwang 15:18, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Part-timers?

Does anyone have a source explaining why Andorra's football team is referred to as "part-time" or "part-timers"? I've read several articles where they are described as such (e.g. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/main.jhtml?xml=/sport/2008/01/14/ufnengland114.xml) and thought this page might have an explanation. Dalton Imperial (talk) 06:15, 15 January 2008 (UTC) |i'm guessing that they are referred to as part timers because their players are not profesinals i.e. they have full time jobs aswell as playing for their league team. --Numberwang (talk) 15:49, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

can somebody shine a light on why most of the page has been removed. the opening paragraph used to be 4 times the size it is now. --Numberwang (talk) 15:49, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Home stadium[edit]

The article says that Estadi Comunal d'Aixovall stadium is home of Andorra national team. The FIFA match report and national football fedartion say that the international matches were played in Estadi Comunal d'Andorra la Vella. --SM (talk) 19:50, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oscar[edit]

Oscar Sonejee doesn't appear in the current squad and he is the captain. Why? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.81.168.163 (talk) 14:47, 18 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

GA review (see here for what the criteria are, and here for what they are not)

I have started the review, will look at the references soon. If you have any queries or questions about any of the points raised below let me know. AIRcorn (talk) 12:47, 28 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  1. It is reasonably well written.
a (prose): b (MoS for lead, layout, word choice, fiction, and lists):
Prose generally good. Layout nice. Apart from a few suggestions in the comments I would combine the two paragraphs in the stadium section.
  2. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
a (references): b (citations to reliable sources): c (OR):
I am a little uncomfortable with the current squad sections as it would only take someone not updating the article to make it factually inaccurate. However they appear in other good articles so it should be alright. I will check the references tomorrow, out of time tonight.
Happy with references. AIRcorn (talk) 07:59, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  3. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects): b (focused):
Covers everything other good football articles have. Only been around for a short time so not that much information available. Would be interested in what occurred prior to 1994. The Andorra all time record against all nation and Internaltional goals sections would work better as a separate list.
  4. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
Maybe a little bit more info about their one competitive win to balance out their losses.
  5. It is stable.
    No edit wars, etc.:
    Good
  6. It is illustrated by images, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free images have fair use rationales): b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
One image with acceptable fair use rational provided.
  7. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:

  • Since making their competitive bow, What does this mean?
I assume this means from their beginning; I changed the sentence accordingly. Strafpeloton2 (talk) 21:34, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • They have only ever won three matches all being at home, while only ever winning one competitive game being a 1–0 win against Macedonia in the 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifying competition. Repetition
I changed this. Strafpeloton2 (talk) 21:34, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • allowing the team to participate in major championships. This appears tacked on and does not fit with any of the other clauses in the sentence.
I modified this sentence. Strafpeloton2 (talk) 21:34, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • The opening match resulted in a 1–0 loss to Estonia. Where was this?
  • Their first and only away goal was against Ireland, but the team still lost 3–1 and also all of their matches. Run on sentence

  • Winning their first competitive game being a 1–0 home win against Macedonia and drawing two matches, being a 0–0 in the return with the Macedonians and gaining a point with the same scoreline with Finland at home. Grammar

  • Since the creation of the FIFA rankings in 1992, Andorra's average position has been 163rd. If they didn't form until 1994 shouldn't this be since 1994?
I changed this to 1996, when they first played games and appeared in the ratings. Strafpeloton2 (talk) 21:34, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I helped with some of the comments above and did some other copyediting. I also added a picture of the stadium, because the page looked a little blank. Strafpeloton2 (talk) 21:34, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Still not keen on the lists, but not enough to prevent this passing. AIRcorn (talk) 07:59, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Worthyness of the section International goals[edit]

Hi fellows wikipedian supporters of Andorra NFT.

I would like to discuss the actual worthyness of the section "International goals". Points for which I would remove it are:
- Only some goals are considered, while goals in friendlies are not. This often lead to misunderstoods as the table was born as a list of ALL goals, and only later reduced as a list of official matches goals.
- Andorra no longer list just few goals, as actual Uefa calendar (including, in primis, nations league) include much more "fair" matches than ever, leading to much more goals. In addition team itself is becoming much more...scoreable. As it was born as a list of few goals of a "small" national football team, I gues that now, has no more sense.
- Encyclopedic relevance of such a chapter is doubt as almost all other NFT pages of national football teams do NOT hold anything similar.
- Info on all scorers can be already found at Andorra national football team results page, while best goalscorers are already listed above .

Wherever complete deletion will not be accepted, evaluate if to include also FIFA friendlies goals.

feedbacks?

Riktetta (talk) 10:34, 9 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This section had some sense when Andorra performed as San Marino. Now they have some good results and they score more oftenly, this section results unncesary as this will be longer and longer. If you vote to keep it, I would vote to keep it as it is right now, with only goals at competitive matches. Asturkian (talk) 14:36, 18 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
My idea is NOT to keep, do you know other recurrent users that may participate to this discussion? If no other feedbacks will arrive in short time, I would remove... Riktetta (talk) 08:20, 19 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe @Scaufape: can help us. Asturkian (talk) 09:25, 19 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
