Background[edit]

I've restored this deletion by a one-edit contributor last year, as without it the remaining paragraph makes little sense.
OTOH the whole paragraph seems a bit dubious; this article is about Andorra, not the other three states, so why is this stuff here at all? Can I suggest this section be re-written to cover Andorra and the Euro, not anywhere else? Moonraker12 (talk) 20:59, 12 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Dual currency[edit]

The Background section also says Andorra "had historically used the French franc and Spanish peseta". As a matter of interest, does anyone know how that worked? Did they have a (constantly changing) local exchange rate? Was everything dual-priced? Or were the coins given a local nominal value? Does anyone know? And are there any other examples of this happening that anyone knows about? My curiosity has been piqued...Moonraker12 (talk) 21:04, 12 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support per nomination. The form "Country and the euro" is only used for main title headers of articles delineating countries where the euro is not in use, but may come into use in the future (Poland and the euro) or countries where the euro is used unilaterally (Montenegro and the euro). Three of the four countries that use the euro as part of a monetary agreement (Monégasque euro coins, Sammarinese euro coins and Vatican euro coins) already have the proposed main header, as pointed out in the nomination, with Andorra's header so far remaining the sole exception. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 00:31, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Kahastok: Actually tha page is already (and exactly) about that subject: Andorran euro coins. It is easy to read and verify how all the 22 previous mentioned pages (From Austria euro coins to Vatican euro coins) are organized in that same identical way. There are four main sections of the article, and only numbers 3 and 4 are focussed on coins. The first two are focussed first on unilateral adoption and then on the process of reaching the monetary agreement. This goes some way beyond simply discussing coins, and would seem to be out of scope for an article on Andorran euro coins. Kahastok talk 14:13, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

 Comment: I do confirm that @Roman Spinner: correctly understood my point of view and why I proposed the moving.
