Translating geniale[edit]

Just for the record, the Italian geniale and the French génial do indeed translate into the English genial as in "displaying or marked by genius." Cf. Merriam-Webster Online [1] as well as Le Robert & Collins Dictionnaire Français-Anglais English-French Dictionary (Paris: Le Robert, 1988), p. 268, and Il Boch Minore (Bologna: Zanichelli, 1992), p. 682. It is therefore not a mis-translation or a faux-ami. --Jumbolino 21:15, 5 September 2008 (UTC) --Jumbolino 09:29, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

Screenplay credits[edit]

In Fellini bios by Alpert, Baxter and above all, Kezich, no mentioned is made of Catherine Breillat's contribution to the script nor is she mentioned in the film's Imdb file. Like Roberto de Leonardis who adapted the Italian dialogue, Breillat is credited as part of the French crew under the heading of "scénariste". What she may have contributed to the screenplay should be sourced first and foremost. One thing, however, is clear: Fellini and Guerra are the only two writers professionally credited for subject, story and script - not only in the screen credits of the film itself but in the majority of reference texts I own or have accessed on the net.--Jumbolino (talk) 18:28, 10 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Mike Hodges[edit]

Mike Hodges is credited on the IMDB as directing the English-language dub of the film - did he merely direct the actors during post-production, or did he actually direct the (mostly English-speaking) actors on the set? It seems like overkill to have Mike Hodges sitting a recording studio overseeing dubbing. 146.90.47.171 (talk) 12:35, 15 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
