I'm really sorry to have to say this, but this article is plainly not ready for GAN. There are several sections that still require citations (I have marked them up) despite a flurry of recent editing; errors and exaggerated claims are being discovered; citations are being copied in from other articles; and nom agrees that the Legacy section is inadequate and requires expansion to document the substantial influence of ancient Greek literature on Western plays, novels, and poetry. Two sentences and five citations have just been added on that topic, but it is evident that just mentioning Shakespeare's Timon of Athens and Joyce's Ulysses only represents the tip of a large iceberg and does not by any means cover the subject; nor does the hasty addition indicate that stability has been attained. The article will benefit from careful analysis, reading around the subject, fuller coverage, and precise citation in the coming months. I look forward to seeing it again when it has been worked up to a better standard. Chiswick Chap (talk) 06:48, 17 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I am not going to argue with you or say that the article's failure was unjustified, but all of the problems you pointed out are relatively minor and could easily be fixed within a matter of days. Of the "citation needed"s you added, only three are left in the whole article. I was planning on correcting all the issues you pointed out within a day or two. You could have at least waited until then before failing it. --Katolophyromai (talk) 10:57, 17 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Many thanks. My concern is not a few citations, but the article's incompleteness, among the other signs mentioned above. Chiswick Chap (talk) 11:05, 17 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Are you referring specifically to the final "Legacy" section? As far I am aware, the rest of the article is essentially complete. I would appreciate any further criticism you can give to help improve the article. If you have other reasons for failing the article aside from those mentioned above, I would appreciate if you could give them. --Katolophyromai (talk) 11:47, 17 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
