Achba is "Ankhazian-georgian" family. The only insane would write that. It's an absolute nonsense! Achba (georgians also like to say that as "Anchabadze") is pure Abkhazian (not abkhazian-georgian and of course not georgian family). I'll make some corrections in article. Examples af abkhazian surnames: Achba, Chanba, Leiba, Lakoba, Gumba, Ratsba, Gechba> Gytsba, Ketsba, Bagapsh, Trapsh, Grivapsh, Gablia, Gulia, Tania, Gamgia ... and so on Examples of georgian surnames: Lominadze, Gorgodze, Shevardnadze, Lordkipanidze, Bakradze... First off, refrain from provocative and insulting comments. Second, in all historical accounts the family is known as Anchabadze. Achba was a local and essentially a non-official form. You can hardly name any medieval source referring to the family as Achba. Third, in the official lists of the Russian imperial nobility the family was known as Anchabadze, not Achba. Fourth, "Ankhazian-georgian" is a very accurate and NPOV discription given the fact that you can still find people surnamed Achba who self-identify as Georgian and Anchabadze who self-identify as Abkhaz and vice-versa. There are many Anchba(male) and Anchpha(female) living today in Middle east, ask them what they feel they are. Stop messing with facts. They are Apsuva(Abkhazian) who by conquest and dynastic unions had power over Georgia. If the family had non-circassian(Ubih and Adyge also) roots, our "xenophobic and somewhat superiorist" cast system wouldnt value them this much(as religion has never been a source of harmony in Abkhaz culture), People were the power in Abkhazian society, who would never accept bowing down to some inferior(due to tradition) family. You are making a serious mistake. Dont manipulate with history (!).

You wrote "refrain from provocative and insulting comments." Did I? Tht was not a provocative or\and insulting comment, that's a truuth that people like you try to hide from everybody. Is that correct? No! You wrote that thre are some people who have Acba surname and identify themself as georgians... So what? That is may be (i mean people may make mistakes and some abkhazians may really dont know who they are) BUT the truth is the truth (whatever some people think). Early surname of Acba was Anchaba (Abkhazian form - "Анцәаба") that means son of the God. Does that "abkhaz-georgian" surname have any translation from georgian, megrelian or lazian language? There is not any single prooth that shows its georgian roots. Isn'it? I have a suggestion. Let's change the name af this article as it's actually is in it origin language. I mean that correct form of Anchabadze surname is ACHBA (not Anchabadze). "Anchabadze" is just a georgian form. --Ketsba (talk) 13:53, 19 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There are many toponimical names in Abkhazia based on Acba surname. For example: Chbikhdaara (Acbas nek), Chbaarta (Achbas river), Chaabalirkhua (Achbas hill), Chaarkit (village of Achba)... There is so much examples. Acha is pure abkhazian (not georgian) surname.

"Anchabadze" in georgian means "son of Anchaba". "Anchaba" in Abkhazian language means "son of the god". It's very old abkhazian surname. Is there any meaning of "Anchabadze" or "Achba" in georgian? Of course the answer is "No". I strongly recommend to change the name of article to "Achba". Don't distort the truth. If anybody will have any questions i'll answer you gladly (including any questions in Abkhazian.
