It's great to see this rather unremarkable piece of urban infrastructure, which I have passed many times on NY Ave and never even noticed, so lovingly detailed on Wikipedia, complete with a dramatic history, and ominous warning "There is also no federal law or regulation which requires railroad bridge owners to ensure the safety of their bridges." It is the critical piece of infrastructure in the area. I actually checked with DOT and the Federal Railroad Administration, and they both said "we don't do railroad bridges." Isn't it amazing? I'm waiting for the day when the Washington Post article starts out, "The Acela Limited plunged into the Anacostia River today, killing 250, after the century-old bridge carrying it across the city's eastern river collapsed. Officials said no one had inspected the bridge since it was rebuilt after a fire in the 1940s..." Creepy! I tried to find information on Amtrak's Web site (which has wonderful information online about its operations) about its bridge inspections, after an individual at Reference Desk suggested I check there. I found nothing. I even looked through Amtrak's ARRA documents, but there is almost no ARRA money being spent in the D.C. metro area (only in Baltimore and points north). And decidedly nothing about this bridge, unfortunately. I suppose i could file a FOIA request with Amtrak, and see if that turns up a document. - Tim1965 (talk) 12:53, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Downstream bridge?[edit]

In the Crossings navbox at the end of the article, shouldn't the downstream bridge be the Washington Metro Blue / Orange / Silver Line bridge rather than the Ethel Kennedy Bridge? -- Pemilligan (talk) 19:22, 31 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
