In my opinion this article needs to be expanded but I cannot find any independent references regarding the institute. I am a structural engineer and anyone working in steel in the U.S. uses the Steel Construction Manual published by the AISC. I don't have verifiable proof of this, I just KNOW it. Any suggestions for how to proceed? I would call myself an expert in steel design. MiriamPschtto (talk) 18:47, 28 September 2011 (UTC)MiriamPschtto[reply]

Responding to MiriamPschtto, this definitely needs to be expanded. The Steel Manual is used all across the country, and in some other countries as well. Perhaps we can reference the IBC, which incorporates AISC 360 by reference? We can find state building codes that have adopted IBC (I think they all have), which in turn would prove that AISC 360 is the most used steel code. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Khaos87 (talkcontribs) 15:20, 18 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Most Beautiful Steel Bridge[edit]

At least two bridge articles mention their bridges won the American Institute of Steel Construction's "Most Beautiful Steel Bridge" award from the 1930s. Unfortunately, information about this award seams to be limited to the plaques physically adorning the wining bridges. The Arrigoni Bridge and French King Bridge are the two I know about and with the Arrigoni I've personally seen the plaque. --IneedAuserName4WikiAndIChooseYouPikachuButNotAsh (talk) 13:41, 12 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
