Label[edit]

There is a label saying "This article or section appears to contradict itself on the author and history. Please see the talk page for more information. (September 2018)". However, I cannot find the contradiction. I propose the following: rewriting the prose indicating the origin of the inspirational ideas for the creed written by Page so as to remove the potential source of ambiguity, then removing the label.

"The American Creed is a statement of the defining element of American identity, first formulated by Thomas Jefferson and elaborated by many others,[1] that includes liberty, equality, individualism, populism, and laissez faire."

In what sense does the creed advocate or affirm laissez-faire? Because some conflate freedom with anarchy? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.192.182.6 (talk) 02:28, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
