Theodore

Theodore is often left out of the picture by his older brothers! Being the baby of 4 kids I know what its like to be left out of the group!!!!!! So like Simon in the movie it is mostly about Alvin but it has 2 other maine charcters in this movie!!!! Signed Danielle! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.76.202.114 (talk) 20:37, 21 February 2008 (UTC) Same for Simon! I feel you, honey... I'm the oldest and sometimes left out of the picture because I'm not as cute as my little sibs. Btw, don't blame Simon for the issue- it's all Alvin's big ego taking up the spotlight! -thegreatandpowerfulsimonseville —Preceding unsigned comment added by Thegreatandpowerfulsimonseville (talkcontribs) 20:23, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

Witch Doctor

In the 25th anniversary album, it is explained that the seemingly random lyrics actually part came from the town of Walla-Walla and the Tang part was from the astronaut drink. Should this be on the page? --Mynameisnotpj (talk) 13:46, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

Small Errors

There are small errors related to the age of both Simon and Alvin, in Alvin's section, its written "The oldest by 5 minutes before Simon". While on Simon's section, it written he's the oldest. Anyone can resolve this confusion? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 148.245.208.131 (talk) 14:49, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

I guess it says that because the movie says that alvin is the oldest. Stryper101 (talk) 16:43, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

Origin

I fail to understand why or how the Chipmunks originated in Atlanta. I've done a lot of research and I can't find any references between the Chipmunks and the city of Atlanta. The creator was from California and the film takes place in California. Other than that, I fail to see any reference to the origin of the show or the characters anywhere, especially Atlanta. Can someone please clear this up or remove the reference to Atlanta? It's misleading at the very least. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.131.220.19 (talk) 17:49, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

New albums

Where is this information coming from about a self-titled "Alvin and the Chipmunks" album and the new Christmas album "Home For Christmas"?? I can't find any info on this other than the internet. I know the new album "Undeniable" just came out yesterday, but I see no sources to validate these two albums. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.225.167.179 (talkcontribs)

Apparently hoaxes, along with a couple of hoax singles. Started the deletion process on all of it.—Kww(talk) 04:27, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

history trivia

Prior to the internet I had read in a printed article that Ross Bagdasarian, Sr planned to have a singing group of rabbits but everyone who heard the demo called them chipmunks due to being familiar with Disney's chipmunk duo so Ross relented and changed them to chipmunks. I am not sure where this should be added and I have no clue as to the details of the print source I read that in. Ann Vole (talk) 16:07, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

Comic books

Alvin and co starred in at least one comic book, I may still have it. It includes the awesome dialogue:

"We've almost got you, Theodore."

"Almost doesn't count. That big hole almost got me, too."

Hence what I call Theodore's Theorem: Almost Doesn't Count. Very applicable to applications development... well, it should be, anyway... Perhaps I should say competently managed applications development... but is there any such thing? Andrewa (talk) 12:15, 16 January 2011 (UTC)

Proposed merge

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
Alvin Seville, Simon Seville and Theodore Seville merged into this article. Darth Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 02:13, 11 October 2011 (UTC)

Alvin Seville, Simon Seville, and Theodore Seville should all be merged into this article. There is no reason why these three characters need their own articles; their personalities, physical descriptions, and voice actor history can be covered easily in a paragraph or two each in this article. Powers T 15:10, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

It's a fine line, but IMO there's plenty of material for an article on each. Andrewa (talk) 02:27, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
Can you give an example? Powers T 13:48, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
Unless adequate third person sources can be supplied for the individual articles I support a merge. Dwanyewest (talk) 22:06, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

I agree with the merge. WikiLubber (talk) 13:38, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

Agree with the merge. Not enough separate information to justify unique pages. lafon 20:45, 9 October 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lafon18badr (talkcontribs)

Done. Powers T 00:45, 11 October 2011 (UTC)

First Alvin and the Chipmunks in print?

Has anyone looked to verify this book illustrated by Richard Scarry as the actual first printed publication of Alvin and the Chipmunks? It certainly looks quite authentic and appears to have been released earlier than the Dell comic.

A timing problem

The Recording technique section tells us "The technique was frequently imitated in comedy records, notably "The Ying Tong Song" by The Goons". However, The Ying Tong Song was released in 1956, two years before the Chipmunks' first recording. I suggest that text be removed. HiLo48 (talk) 07:15, 7 January 2012 (UTC)

There have been some edits to the article since I wrote this, but nobody has commented here. I will be bold and remove the seemingly incorrect text. HiLo48 (talk) 22:19, 8 January 2012 (UTC)

Incorrect Facebook Page

I recently took a look at the facebook page referenced in the article and I noticed it is not the same one that all of the official sites link to. The one liked to by all the official sites makes no mention of a fourth movie at this time. As much as I would like to see a fourth movie right now there is no official conformation from any reliable source. Here is the link to the facebook page and the official sites that link to it. I do not want to mess up the article so that is why I am hoping someone who knows what they are doing can update the page for me.

The New DVDs

Does Paramount still make them? Amazon lists the studio as Bagdasarian Productions. Could someone who bought a disc check if it has Paramount's logo? 24.56.77.200 (talk) 05:41, 6 May 2012 (UTC)

Terribly written

Resolved

I'm sorry but this article is terribly written. It is very unencyclopedic (it's as if it was written to appeal to very young children), and seems to have been written by a fan. It also, as has already been brought up, treats the Chipmunks as if they were a real band (it says they're fictional at the beginning but still).— Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.9.137.110 (talkcontribs) 12:02, January 23, 2016‎

86.9.137.110 is currently blocked for vandalism/trolling.[1][2] - SummerPhDv2.0 15:49, 24 January 2016 (UTC)

Nope. - SummerPhDv2.0 19:39, 24 January 2016 (UTC)
Why not? S/he may be a vandal, but that IS a good point. I have read through the article and what s/he says is true.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.156.219.61 (talkcontribs) 15:15, January 24, 2016‎
Because you are currently evading your block. - SummerPhDv2.0 01:01, 25 January 2016 (UTC)
I promise I won't sockpuppet again. I'm sorry. I promise all that happened was I went home from a day out, didn't realise I was still blocked at first, noticed I was, and panicked. I am sorry for the vandalism but what makes you think that this particular edit is trolling? I genuinely think this article is poorly written. I have made further points on my sockpuppetery investigation page. 109.156.219.61 (talk) 17:20, 25 January 2016 (UTC)
