Soundtrack version[edit]

The saxophone solo had appeared in the soundtrack version of Almost Paradise (Love Theme from "Footloose"). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.97.68.193 (talk) 13:11, 29 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Correct Song Title[edit]

The Background section in the article currently states:

Officially listed as the "Love Theme from Footloose" on the film's soundtrack

I can find no album releases that could be considered authoritative that list the title officially as "Love Theme from Footloose". The track is almost always listed exactly as:

ALMOST PARADISE... Love Theme From FOOTLOOSE

Even the case and spacing around "..." is consistent in all but a few cases where the "..." are omitted or "Love Theme From FOOTLOOSE" is in parentheses. Note that there never seems to be a space before the "...". There is often clearly a space after "..." or the part following "..." is on the next line. There may be a few cases where there is no space after the "..." though it is very hard to see for sure,

Using "<presumed correct title>" in place of "ALMOST PARADISE... Love Theme From FOOTLOOSE" to make comparing easier, the track title appears on authoritative releases as:

US LP (Columbia JS 39242, 1984)
Front cover: <presumed correct title>
Back cover: <presumed correct title>
Media label: <presumed correct title>
LP sleeve track listing/lyrics: <presumed correct title>
US CD (Columbia CK 39242, 1984)
Front cover: <presumed correct title>
Back cover: ALMOST PARADISE Love Theme From FOOTLOOSE
i.e., The "..." are missing
Media label: <presumed correct title>
US single (Columbia 38-04418, 1984)
Sleeve front: <presumed correct title>
Sleeve back: <presumed correct title>
Media label: <presumed correct title>
US CD (Columbia CK 65781, 1999, 15th Anniversary Collector's Edition)
Front cover: <presumed correct title>
Back cover: ALMOST PARADISE (Love Theme From FOOTLOOSE)
i.e., "Love Theme From FOOTLOOSE" is in parentheses
Media label: <the tracks are not listed>

For what it's worth, even the movie end credits has the track title as "ALMOST PARADISE...LOVE THEME FROM FOOTLOOSE" (with no space after "...").

Per my reading of WP:NCSONG and MOS:TITLECAPS, the capitalization in the article should be:

Almost Paradise... Love Theme from Footloose

which is exactly as it currently appears in the intro section (yeah!).

As such, I will remove the part in the Background section that says the official title is different. I will also change the title given in the track listing in the soundtrack album article to match the title in this article which, as discussed, appears to be the correct version.
