Naming mixup[edit]

Capryl is the same as Octyl. So the second phrase has to be decyl! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.69.96.118 (talk) 13:52, 19 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Specific chemical makeup[edit]

Aldrich (and our lede that close-paraphrases it) says it's a mixture of chain-lengths, but then both also say it has a specific molecular weight that corresponds to only one specific set of chains. Should the article be handled as a trade-name for a mixture of chemicals (a product rather than a specific chemical entity), with separate information for each component? Or is there reference that there really is just a trivially minor "other" homolog present (and the article image adjusted accordingly)? DMacks (talk) 20:23, 19 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
