Fair use rationale for Image:Alice'sRestaurantDVD.jpg[edit]

Image:Alice'sRestaurantDVD.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

POPULAR reception?[edit]

so how did it do at the box office? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.105.214.63 (talk) 23:51, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

domestic violence[edit]

"Alice is very often beaten by her husband, Ray — something which the others do not even react to."

Alice is only struck once on screen. Guthrie does intervene. The psychological abuse is only shown in a limited way.

I am not sure what is the best way to clean this up. (help) 1/2011 Jmcolsmith (talk) 13:32, 16 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have made an attempt to improve this. Some factual corrections made in line with comments above. I have added a who template to indicate that we need more information on the anonymous commentators (this is in a reception section, were these comments on domestic violence the invention of the wikipedian who added the text or were they actually made in the book referenced, if so by who.) Having only just watched the film for the first time, I was surprised by the tones of an abusive/dysfunctional relationship, but the previous text went beyond what is indicated in the film. I have not moved the section, but am not convinced it really fits well under the title Reception in the current form. --Djlivi (talk) 00:37, 12 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Joni Mitchell[edit]

I am sure that has to be Joni Mitchell performing her song at Shelly's grave and not an actress playing her. She's just 25 at this time, but the shape of her mouth gives it away. But she is not listed in the end credits, only cited at the beginning for her song. IMDB includes the song contribution but does not note that she was pictured in the film. Anyone care to back me up or refute this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.243.165.71 (talk) 14:52, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The singer in the film was billed as Tigger Outlaw. I do not believe it was Joni under an assumed name. Mark Sublette (talk) 19:42, 22 May 2011 (UTC)Mark SubletteMark Sublette (talk) 19:42, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The singer of Joni Mitchell's song during the funeral scene was indeed Tigger Outlaw. At the time she was married to Geoff Outlaw who played Arlo's friend Roger in the film. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.35.198.204 (talk) 21:17, 25 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Pat Quinn[edit]

There are two different actresses named Patricia Quinn. The Pat Quinn who appears in Alice's Restaurant is not the same Patricia Quinn who appeared in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, although this article links to Patricia Quinn from Rocky. FYI. More info regarding Pat Quinn from Alice's can be found in IMDB, in case someone wants to create a new wiki page for her. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.79.207.24 (talk) 19:51, 23 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
