NBC Chimes[edit]

Is there any documentation that he created the "NBC Chimes"? Markhh 02:30, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Living person?[edit]

Can anyone verify if D'artega is a living person? Siyavash 16:50, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know (and I've never heard of him), but I think we should assume he is living unless evidence is presented to the contrary. --kingboyk 17:00, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Also credited as "Alfred D'artega"?[edit]

Is "Alfred D'artega" confirmed as another name for "Alphonso D'artega"? Siyavash 17:11, 20 August 2006 (UTC) Alfonso D'Artega has been dead for at least 25 years. He was married to my aunt, Vita Viviano, also deceased. He lived in Rome, Italy, and conducted the Symphony orchestra there. He composed a symphony for the dedication of the Gateway Arch in St.Louis. There was also a connection to he African Country of Biffech. The "King" (Edward Schaeffer)was his friend. Bob D'Artega, the photographer, was Alfonso's brother. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.26.129.65 (talk) 01:26, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Is this the Alfonso D'Artega of the Rome Symphony who in 1971 composed the Anthem of the Kingdom of Biffeche in West Africa?[edit]

The Kingdom of Biffeche page has been in sort of an edit war (see the Talk:Biffeche discussion-page), and the Biffeche Anthem page was deleted by the same people. However, I found it mirrored elsewhere on the web, and here is the content (without the music, alas):

Anthem of the Kingdom of Biffeche, West Africa

Music by Sir Alfonso D'Artega, Rome Symphony, written in April, 1971 Arrangement by Father Gary Pool

A few Questions

1. Is this the same Alfonso D'Artega described here? (i.e. was he in the Rome Symphony?)
2. If so, what is (or, if dead, was) his connection to the African kingdom of Biffeche, and where did his "Sir" come from?
3. Is there a website with the notes of the Biffeche Anthem music, or a WAV file?
4. If he is still alive, and active (at age 90 or so), where is he?

1. Probably. See 2. (I can't find anything about a connection with the Rome Symphony - which incidentally is in Rome, Georgia, not the other one).
2. Probably being on the social circuit of St Louis, MO, where a lot of the recipients of Biffeche honorifics hail from. According to the IMDb bio he conducted the St Louis Symphony; according to this article in St Louis Magazine, Constant Exposure, he was a relative of the Arteaga family, the St Louis dynasty of photographers; and he's written at least one other corporate work related to St Louis [1].
3. Dunno.
4. Died 20 Jan 1998 (IMDb again).
