rephrase and source?[edit]

"The motion was defeated, and next day (13 June 1849) he headed what he called a peaceful demonstration, and his enemies armed insurrection."

It took me a bit to read this as: The motion was defeated, and next day (13 June 1849) he headed what he called a peaceful demonstration, and [what] his enemies [called an] armed insurrection.

Perhaps it could be rephrased?

Also, could a source in French or otherwise be found to justify putting the "armed insurrection" in quotation marks? That too could smooth things a bit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.133.222.248 (talk) 03:18, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
