Commissioner of/for Prizes?[edit]

Were there multiple commissioners at any one time? See eg Emanuel Scrope Howe. Le Deluge (talk) 18:52, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Early life[edit]

Alexander Pendarves (1662-1726) is described as the son of Bridget, whose father was "Sir Alexander Carew, 8th Baronet". According to the page that this links to, Sir Alexander lived from 1715 until 1799. Unless I'm missing something, this makes it quite impossible for him to be AP's grandfather. Either this page or the linked-to page must be wrong.

Also, should Sir Alexander be described better as "8th Baronet [something]" or "[of something]" to establish of which baronetcy he is the 8th? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 132.244.246.25 (talk) 07:49, 9 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Correction was made earlier by someone else; should have been Sir Alexander Carew, 2nd Baronet. I added the location clarifier of "Antony", along with the ref. --Rosiestep (talk) 03:10, 10 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
